CodeScene On-Premise

Our company uses Kubernetes as the standard deployment platform.

We would like the CodeScene on-premise product in a Kubernetes cluster, but didn’t find any official instructions on how to do so.

    To expand on Stephen’s answer.

    While we don’t recommend using distributed storage, it’s possible to deploy CodeScene using Kubernetes or other container platforms such as AWS ECS.

    We don’t have an exact recipe for such a deployment, but here are some important considerations:

    • Single replica - CodeScene is a monolith that cannot run in multiple copies

    • External database - don’t use the default embedded H2 database

    • Fast storage volume mount to /codescene inside the container preferably persistent, not ephemeral - e.g. an AWS EBS volume

    • CodeScene runs under the user UID 10999 in the container

    • HTTP port 3003

    • Health check via /health endpoint

    CodeScene's recommended on-premise deployment uses Docker on a Linux VM. The documentation advises against distributed file storage solutions, which are common in Kubernetes, due to potential performance issues. Therefore, direct deployment on Kubernetes is not officially supported, and there are no specific instructions available.
